Kia Corporation today presented full details of its Vision Meta Turismo concept car at Milan Design Week. The event marked the global debut of the Kia Vision Meta Turismo concept, following its initial reveal in Korea last year, where it was unveiled in December to celebrate the brand’s 80th anniversary.

The Vision Meta Turismo concept embodies Kia’s futuristic vision of an evolved approach to mobility. The design combines dynamic driving performance with a lounge-inspired interior, paying homage to the speed and elegance of 1960s long-distance touring. The Vision Meta Turismo heralds a step-change in user experience, bringing together advanced technology and

an engaging emotional experience.

Karim Habib, Executive Vice President and Head of Kia Global Design, commented: The Vision Meta Turismo marks a significant milestone, demonstrating how Kia‘s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy also shapes our future vision of mobility. Harmonizing the spirit of 1960s long-distance touring with the limitless possibilities of an immersive digital experience, we have created a vehicle that moves beyond the bounds of tradition.

“The Vision Meta Turismo is a physical manifestation of Kia’s continuous push forward – bringing together bold design and sophisticated technology – to transform electric mobility into a deeply emotional and engaging experience. This concept embodies Kia’s vision of a future where mobility is not just about the destination, but about creating human-centered spaces that engage, stimulate, and inspire our customers in ways yet to be imagined.

A New Definition of Driving

The Vision Meta Turismo isn’t just about getting from point A to point B—it’s about redefining the journey itself. Inspired by the elegance and freedom of 1960s long-distance touring, the concept fuses nostalgic driving romance with cutting-edge technology.

At its core, the vehicle is built around three transformative pillars:

  • Performance driving

  • Immersive digital interaction

  • Lounge-like comfort

This triad creates a holistic experience where the driver and passengers are not merely occupants, but active participants in a dynamic, sensory environment.

Design Philosophy: Opposites United

Central to the Vision Meta Turismo is Kia’s design philosophy, Opposites United. This ethos thrives on contrast- blending soft, organic forms with sharp, technical precision.

The result is a striking exterior:

  • A low, wide stance with cab-forward proportions

  • Soft geometric surfaces that shift with light

  • A truncated rear design for aerodynamic efficiency

  • A signature ultra-slim LED light blade wrapping the vehicle’s rear

The car’s sweeping glass canopy reveals an intricate internal structure, emphasizing both strength and lightness, an aesthetic balance that feels futuristic yet organic. Adding to its aviation-inspired edge, elements like canard-style structures and integrated camera systems draw directly from jet aircraft design, reinforcing the vehicle’s high-performance identity.

An Interior That Feels Alive

Step inside, and the Vision Meta Turismo transforms into something entirely different a living digital space.

The cockpit is designed with purpose and contrast:

  • The driver’s area is focused and performance-driven, featuring a slim instrument cluster, lightweight seating, and airflow-optimized materials.

  • The passenger space, by contrast, is relaxed and lounge-like, even allowing the seat to rotate 180 degrees when stationary for social interaction.

This duality reflects a broader shift in automotive design where cars evolve into adaptable environments rather than static machines.

Digital Meets Emotional: A New Driving Experience

Kia pushes the boundaries of electric driving by reintroducing emotional feedback through digital means.

Innovative controls include:

  • A virtual gear shifter joystick that simulates traditional gear changes

  • Haptic feedback systems with sound and vibration

  • Customizable driving modes via intuitive dial controls

These features aim to restore the visceral thrill often lost in electric vehicles making driving feel tactile, responsive, and deeply personal.

Three Modes, Three Worlds

Perhaps the most groundbreaking feature is the steering interface, inspired by gaming controllers. It unlocks three distinct experiential modes:

Speedster

A high-performance mode that immerses the driver in speed through augmented reality visuals, sound, and lighting.

Dreamer

Designed for urban exploration, this mode overlays digital elements onto the real world using AR displays and glasses, transforming city driving into an interactive experience.

Gamer

When parked, the car becomes a social hub. Users can engage in virtual racing, with external projection systems turning the vehicle into a shared gaming environment.

A Glimpse Into the Future

The Vision Meta Turismo is more than a concept it’s a statement. It signals Kia’s ambition to move beyond traditional automotive boundaries and into a future where cars are emotional, adaptive, and deeply human-centered.

As Karim Habib notes, the vehicle represents “a future where mobility is not just about the destination, but about creating spaces that inspire and engage.”

Where to Experience It

Visitors can explore the Vision Meta Turismo in person at Salone dei Tessuti during Milan Design Week, where it is displayed alongside Kia’s latest EV concepts until April 26.
