Unveiled during Milan Design Week 2026, Yuan marks a refined collaboration between Italian design house Giorgetti and Chinese studio Outin.Design. Rooted in the centuries-old tradition of the tea ceremony, the collection reinterprets ritual through a contemporary design language that bridges Eastern philosophy and Italian craftsmanship.
At the heart of Yuan is Antichi Impasti Romani®, a distinctive finish inspired by ancient Roman building techniques. Crafted from natural materials and applied entirely by hand, the layered mixture combines fresco techniques with an unexpected ingredient- tea leaves, introducing a subtle fragrance that enriches the sensory experience. The finish can also be customised with different materials, transforming each piece into a unique narrative object.

The collection centres around the Yuan table, available in both tea ceremony and dining versions. Designed to encourage gathering and connection, its sculptural legs create a striking interplay of solids and voids, while Pau Ferro wood details reference the auspicious figure eight, a symbol of prosperity.
Complementing the table are a matching armchair, pouf and side table, each echoing the collection’s harmonious balance of form, materiality and symbolism. Together, Yuan transforms everyday moments into rituals, where design becomes a quiet expression of culture, memory and human connection.
