There is something incredibly beautiful about the idea of spring, not simply as a change in season, but as a feeling. A sense of starting again, opening up to possibility, and allowing yourself to fall in love with life all over again. That feeling sits at the heart of Gucci’s new Primavera campaign, which celebrates rebirth through the transformative power of love.

Directed by Johan Renck, the campaign unfolds through a short film that feels almost cinematic in its simplicity. Kate Moss lip-syncs to Chris Isaak’s unmistakable baritone rendition of “Wicked Game”, while a room full of strangers slowly awakens. One by one, they find each other, pair off and eventually surrender to the energy of the dance floor.

It is romantic, unexpected and wonderfully human. More than a fashion film, it captures that fleeting moment when a room, a song or a single encounter can suddenly make everything feel possible.

For me, this is what makes the Primavera campaign particularly compelling. Gucci has always understood the emotional power of fashion, and here, clothing becomes part of a much larger story about connection, desire and transformation.

A Modern Renaissance

Photographed by Michal Chelbin, the campaign takes another beautiful turn through a series of intimate portraits inspired by the spirit of Renaissance imagery.

The compositions, poses and grandeur recall classical paintings, but the characters are unmistakably contemporary. Ten talents from music, film, fashion and sport come together to represent the many facets of Gucci’s evolving identity.

The cast includes Global Brand Ambassadors Xiao Zhan, Jin and NINGNING, alongside Tom Brady, Alex Consani, EsDeeKid, Lee Young Ae, Shawn Mendes, Rico Nasty and Tarzzan.

Each portrait feels almost like a character study: individual, expressive and deliberately personal. Together, they create a diverse picture of what Gucci represents today, while reflecting Demna’s evolving vision for the House.

Demna’s New Gucci Vocabulary

The campaign also introduces the collection presented during Demna’s debut fashion show for Gucci, offering a first look at a new vocabulary of silhouettes, textures and proportions.

There is a noticeable sense of lightness and ease running through the collection, with multiple modes of dressing that feel contemporary without losing sight of Gucci’s rich heritage.

And perhaps that is where Primavera feels most relevant. It is not about leaving the past behind. It is about taking what came before and allowing it to evolve into something new.

With its combination of romance, art, fashion and human connection, Gucci’s Primavera campaign feels like an invitation to embrace that sense of renewal; to be open to unexpected encounters, new beginnings and, perhaps most importantly, the possibility of falling in love again.

Because sometimes, like spring itself, the most beautiful chapters begin when we least expect them.
