Etro in Flux: Marco De Vincenzo’s Ritual of Movement

Etro is not just a brand—it is a language. A metamorphic, mercurial idiom that feeds on the constant motion of prints and colors, painting them across the body in shapes that flow seamlessly with gestures and actions. It is a sartorial dialect that mimics life itself, following its rhythms, its crescendos, and its silences.

For this season, the rhythm is tense, ritualistic, charged with the energy of La Niña. Marco De Vincenzo surrenders himself to Etro’s ever-shifting current, both directing and being carried by it. He breathes in the rebellious spirit of the brand’s origins, the euphoric joy of psychedelia, and lets the collection tell its own story—an unrestrained narrative of spontaneity, sentiment, and freedom.

Dressing, here, is not mere adornment; it is an act of expression infused with primal energy. In this flux, everything blends: impalpable forms twist and wrap around the body, accentuated with ruffles and fringes. Tailoring, sharp yet softened, shimmers with silk’s liquidity. Crochet and sheer fabrics reveal fleeting glimpses of skin, while layers ripple with movement, drawing the eye into constant detours.

Textures unfold like a visual symphony: studded fringes streak across leather biker jackets and suede coats; beaded fringes catch light as they dance over vibrant prints; metallic jacquards layer with hypnotic rhythms. Color, too, becomes a force of motion—contrasting ruffles explode with vibrancy, multicolored inlays animate leather blousons, and painterly motifs bloom across brocades. Then, black emerges suddenly—brilliant yet weightless, a dramatic interruption within the kaleidoscope.

The accessories extend Etro’s restless current. Jewelry appears molten, like liquid metal swirling into hammered filigree, often taking the shape of chameleons—symbols of metamorphosis. Wide-brimmed hats are cut with surgical precision in leather, while beaded scarves shimmer like relics of ritual. Footwear exudes sensual craft: shoes with embroidered straps, covered heels, and fringed totes that sway with each step. Softly sculpted handbags, adorned with charms both botanical and zoomorphic, complete the ensemble, embodying nature’s own fluid transformations.

Etro, under De Vincenzo’s direction, becomes a perpetual motion machine—retracing its heritage, flowing through the present, and surging relentlessly forward. It is fashion as flux: alive, spontaneous, and uncontainable.
