Porsche 911 Turbo S Sadu Edition to Debut at Icons of Porsche Dubai 2026

Limited to just 20 examples and created to celebrate 70 years of Porsche in Kuwait, the exclusive 911 Turbo S Sadu Edition brings together the artistry of traditional Al Sadu weaving and Porsche's renowned craftsmanship. The special edition will make its first public appearance outside Kuwait at the Icons of Porsche festival in Dubai on 21–22 November 2026.
Dubai is set to welcome a rather special piece of automotive and cultural history this November. The Porsche 911 Turbo S Sadu Edition, an exclusive creation celebrating seven decades of Porsche in Kuwait, will make a special appearance at the sixth edition of the Icons of Porsche festival, taking place on 21 and 22 November 2026 at The Square, Nad Al Sheba, Dubai.
Limited to just 20 vehicles and produced exclusively for the Kuwaiti market, this distinctive edition represents much more than a celebration of an automotive milestone. It is a thoughtful meeting of two worlds: Porsche's legacy of precision engineering and Kuwait's rich cultural heritage, expressed through the traditional art of Al Sadu weaving.
Previously unveiled in Kuwait, the special edition will be displayed publicly outside the country for the first time at Icons of Porsche, offering visitors an opportunity to experience a vehicle in which cultural identity and contemporary automotive design come together.

A Porsche Inspired by Kuwait's Living Heritage
At the heart of the 911 Turbo S Sadu Edition is Al Sadu, a traditional form of weaving deeply rooted in the cultural history of Kuwait and the wider Bedouin communities of the Arabian Peninsula.
Recognised for its distinctive geometric patterns, bold contrasting colours and rhythmic horizontal bands, Al Sadu weaving has traditionally been used to create textiles for everyday life, including tents, furnishings and other household essentials. Beyond its practical purpose, the craft carries stories of community, identity and generations of knowledge passed down through skilled weavers.
Its cultural importance received international recognition in 2020, when traditional Al Sadu weaving was inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
For Porsche, translating this heritage into an exclusive sports car was an opportunity to create something with a deeper connection to the market it was designed for. Rather than simply incorporating a decorative motif, the intention was to interpret the visual language and craftsmanship of Sadu through the contemporary design philosophy of Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur.
A Collaboration Rooted in Authenticity
The story behind the Sadu Edition began with a desire to mark an important chapter in Porsche's relationship with Kuwait, its oldest market in the Middle East.
Discussions about creating a special regional edition inspired by Sadu patterns began in January 2022 at Porsche Middle East and Africa's regional office. As the seventieth anniversary of Porsche in Kuwait approached, the idea developed into an exclusive project dedicated to the Kuwaiti market.
In March 2023, Porsche Middle East and Africa presented the proposal to Porsche Centre Kuwait, setting the creative process in motion. Recognising the importance of representing the cultural tradition accurately, members of the Porsche Centre Kuwait team visited AlSadu Society that same month.
Following several meetings and discussions, the collaboration was formally confirmed in April 2023.
AlSadu Society played an important role in bringing cultural authenticity to the project, providing historical references, visual material and insight into the principles of traditional weaving. This ensured that the design was informed by the craft's heritage rather than simply borrowing its visual elements.
The partnership also built on earlier collaboration between Porsche Centre Kuwait and AlSadu Society, including a 2024 Taycan project that helped establish the foundations for the seventieth-anniversary celebrations.
The result is a special interpretation of the Porsche 911 Turbo S, where the distinctive character of Al Sadu finds expression through the precision, materials and craftsmanship associated with Porsche.
Taking the Story Beyond the Car
One of the most interesting aspects of the 911 Turbo S Sadu Edition is that the collaboration extends beyond automotive design.
Porsche Centre Kuwait and AlSadu Society have been developing cultural initiatives to introduce more people to the traditional craft and encourage a deeper appreciation of Kuwait's textile heritage.
These initiatives include opportunities to visit heritage locations connected to Al Sadu House, alongside traditional weaving workshops hosted at the Porsche dealership. Visitors can learn about the fundamentals of the craft, understand how a traditional loom works and discover the meaning behind the geometric patterns that make Sadu so distinctive.
The intention is to create an experience that allows people not only to admire the finished design but also to appreciate the skill, patience and cultural knowledge behind the original craft.
For AlSadu Society, this approach reflects its wider commitment to safeguarding traditional knowledge while encouraging its interpretation in contemporary creative fields. From fashion and interiors to architecture and now automotive design, Al Sadu continues to find new expressions while remaining connected to its cultural roots.
A Journey Through Kuwait's Cultural Landmarks
Since its unveiling, the Porsche 911 Turbo S Sadu Edition has embarked on a journey across Kuwait, visiting locations that reflect the heritage and inspiration behind its creation.
The journey began at the Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Cultural Centre, where the exclusive model was first unveiled. It then continued to the historic Behbehani House Complex, known for its traditional courtyard houses, before making its way through the lively streets of Souq Mubarakiyah, a place where Kuwait's craftsmanship, trading traditions and cultural identity remain very much alive.
Another stop was AlSadu Street, where geometric patterns recreated using coloured Kuwaiti bricks echoed the distinctive motifs incorporated into the special edition.
The journey also included Bait Al Arab, Kuwait's Arabian Horse Centre, celebrating another important aspect of the country's heritage and its commitment to preserving traditions across generations.
The final images captured against the contemporary architecture and skyline of Kuwait City brought the story full circle, highlighting the relationship between the country's rich past and its evolving modern identity.
Icons of Porsche Dubai: A Celebration of Automotive Culture
The appearance of the 911 Turbo S Sadu Edition at Icons of Porsche adds another dimension to this year's festival.
Now an established highlight on Dubai's automotive calendar, Icons of Porsche brings together collectors, enthusiasts, classic-car aficionados and visitors from across the region for a celebration of Porsche's heritage, design and engineering.
Against this backdrop, the Sadu Edition offers something particularly meaningful: a reminder that exceptional automotive design can also tell a story about the people, traditions and places that inspire it.
Created in just 20 examples, the model is an exclusive tribute to 70 years of Porsche in Kuwait. Yet its significance extends beyond its rarity. It demonstrates how a global automotive marque can engage with local culture through meaningful collaboration, craftsmanship and respect for tradition.
As it makes its first public appearance outside Kuwait at Icons of Porsche in Dubai, the 911 Turbo S Sadu Edition brings together two expressions of excellence: the precision of German engineering and the enduring artistry of Kuwaiti heritage.
Some stories are told through machines, others through the hands of artisans. This Porsche brings both together, weaving seven decades of automotive history with a cultural tradition that continues to inspire generations.
